本書除了有基礎論述之外，更以Windows作業系統來做範例解說，緣此，我們把本書給分成三大部分，第一章到第三章的內容主要是回顧作業系統的基本知識，第四章到第八章的內容主要是舉Windows作業系統來當範例，至於第九章到第十章的內容則是x86的CPU，之所以會這樣安排，主要是希望各位能逐漸地熟悉作業系統、Windows作業系統，然後到x86的CPU。
